Robert Suttles Martial Arts
Call it a breath of fresh air…
As you know, I have been following one particular martial-arts discussion group on Facebook. Some of these guys are posting videos. Most of the combat videos posted are instructing some technique or series.
After watching a bunk of weaker demonstrations, I saw one that was “better,” but still not as direct as it could be.
I liked the guy’s style.
Gently, and with a humble attitude, I asked the teacher if he wanted a few suggestions on how to make his sequence more direct … and damaging.
He told me to “Have at it.”
So, I did.
And the “flack” came flying in. His devotees condemned me left and right, even though the teacher thanked me, and told them to back off, because “Pascal knows a thing or two.”
Well, recently, this group has posted some new videos.
The teacher presenting is an old buddy of mine, Robert (Bob) Suttles.
I don’t know what I expected, but … the few videos of his that I watched were a breath of fresh air. They were much more direct than many of the others posted.
So, here’s the question:
Do you know why I would call his videos direct and the others less so?
Keith
PS I am not providing links for the more fossilized representations, because I don’t want to embarrass anyone. And you can always Google Robert Suttles.
