Change Your Martial Arts with Three Sentences

(The conclusion to the last three articles ...)

I have three fairly long-winded sentences, I'd like you to consider:

1) In a fight, one way to direct your attacker's movements is to make your probing techniques and your fully committed hits look the same, as though they have the same angle of entry and the same level of commitment.

 

2) Eliminate preparatory motions in an attack or a response-attack; you don't have time to get ready, only to defend with an attack of your own.

 

3) Besides being able to pretend you're afraid, there are other benefits to keeping your hands to the front of your body in a fight.

 

 

Do these pieces of advice make any sense at all?

Can you generalize the principles to your own martial arts?

Would you like to know where I got the ideas for each sentence?

Well... Sentence number one is a summary of the first article in this sequence, all about fakes( Your Fake Looks Fake).

The second sentence hails from the second article ... about bottles ( Bottle-Fighting Tactics).

And you guessed it ... the third sentence is a little summary of the last article, the hot-hands experiment ( The Hot Hands Experiment).

I was just checking, to see if we were all on the same page.

Actually, the next step is to try to combine the pieces of advice. Learn the art of successful fakes ... with a bottle.

Keep the bottle in front of your body, if you know the advantages.

And on it goes.
